Verified against the manufacturer's documentation (rev. Blue Sea 5060 product specifications and crimping FAQ, undated), checked 2026-11-03. Manufacturer documentation →

Which Blue Sea 5060 is this?

The 5060 is a crimpable inline holder for AGC or MDL glass tube fuses. Blue Sea rates the holder for fuses up to 30 A and sells the fuse separately. In Crimp it starts with a 1 A MDL slow-blow fuse. Select the holder to change the amperage. Blue Sea 5060 specifications

How is the Blue Sea 5060 wired?

Connect the battery-positive feed to IN and the protected positive lead to OUT. Both leads terminate at the same fuse. The 12 V example connects OUT to the SmartShunt’s Vbatt+ and returns its BATTERY MINUS post to battery negative. Victron specifies a 1 A slow-blow fuse in the supplied red lead. Victron SmartShunt installation and technical data

What should I bear in mind with the Blue Sea 5060?

Blue Sea specifies 12–18 AWG conductors for its crimp ends. Use Victron’s supplied fused lead when wiring the SmartShunt. For a separate holder, check conductor fit and the fuse’s time characteristic, DC voltage and interrupt rating against the actual circuit. Blue Sea specifications and Eaton MDL data sheet

What do owners and installers say about the Blue Sea 5060?

Blue Sea’s installation FAQ identifies the crimp points. Strip each conductor, seat it up to its insulation and crimp each end of the holder. Blue Sea 5060 crimping FAQ

What belongs around the Blue Sea 5060?

The SmartShunt’s fused positive lead powers the monitor. Load and charging currents pass through the large negative posts. SmartShunt 500A connections
