Display the instruments already on the network

000-13294-001 is the Triton2 digital instrument display. It presents wind, depth, speed and other values received from compatible network sources. It does not create those measurements itself. Autopilot pages also require a compatible pilot system and the relevant controls; adding a display is not an autopilot installation.

Power arrives through Micro-C

The display is powered from a 12 V NMEA 2000 backbone, with a specified 10–16 V supply range. There is no separate battery-positive and battery-negative pair on this component. Use an appropriate drop cable and T-piece on a correctly powered and terminated backbone. A 24 V house bank requires a suitable 12 V network supply arrangement.

B&G specifies maximum consumption of 1.8 W and a network load of 3 LEN. LEN is a network power-budget unit, not a three-amp load. Add the display to the backbone's current and voltage-drop calculation with all the other devices. The product's 5 A fuse specification concerns its network supply arrangement; it is not the display's consumption or a reason to fuse an individual data pin.

The canvas therefore exposes a signal/network marker only. The planner does not carry network power through that marker. Include the display's 1.8 W allowance when budgeting the real backbone feed, and do not interpret an unmodeled network load as zero consumption.

Select sources deliberately

After mounting where the display can be read and its connector remains accessible, power the network and open its source settings. Automatic source selection is a useful starting point, but installations with two GPS, depth or wind sources need an explicit check of the chosen source and any shared source group. A plausible number can still come from the wrong sensor.

Configure pages for the measurements actually installed, then set units and display behavior. Calibrate relevant sensor values using the operator manual. In particular, a depth offset changes the reference from the transducer to the keel or waterline; record its sign and purpose so the displayed clearance is understood.

Commission data as well as the screen

Check every required page against a known source and verify alarms with suitable test settings. If the screen is dark, investigate backbone supply and drop voltage. If it is powered but displays missing or erratic values, check device discovery, source selection, termination and the sensor itself before replacing the display. Backlight changes are an operating preference; they do not replace planning for the published maximum network demand.

Manual and evidence

Manufacturer operator manual, distributor-hosted PDF: calibration/system settings, printed pp. 69 onward for sources, and p. 82 for watts/LEN. Official exact-SKU product page supplies the voltage and fuse specifications. The official legacy PDF endpoint returned an access error; the downloaded manufacturer-authored mirror is hashed in the ledger.

Catalog specification

Network-powered instrument: 10–16 V via NMEA 2000, maximum 1.8 W, 3 LEN. The Micro-C marker carries no modeled DC current; budget the display on the separately protected backbone feed. There are no standalone battery terminals. Wind, depth and speed require network sensors; the display is not an autopilot controller by itself.
