Sized against ABYC E-11. The design current is the part's continuous draw. The length is one way; voltage drop includes an equal-length return.

Run-length and manufacturer assumptions

The editable example uses 3.048 m (10 ft) runs unless a shorter run is stated. Metric overviews round these to 3 m. Adapt the parts and lengths to your installation before choosing cable and protection.

This supply example retains the manufacturer's 5 A fuse. Follow the complete installation notes for connector polarity, mounting, controls and commissioning; verify the actual cable route and equipment revision. Manufacturer installation manual

Keep LED and halogen specifications separate

30004ST is the white permanent-mount LED Stryker ST. Its instruction guide lists 3.5 A maximum at 13.8 V and a 5 A fuse. Other models in the same guide are halogen with different current and fuse requirements. The light needs a 12 V vessel supply; it is not a direct 24 V appliance. The handheld remote runs from its own two AAA cells and does not take its operating power through the light’s supply cable.

Connect a protected supply with room to rotate

Connect the identified positive and negative light leads to a protected supply and return, retaining a 5 A fuse for the LED model. Identify the actual harness before relying on wire color. Size extensions for the route and loaded voltage drop; the guide does not publish a universal extension-gauge limit. Leave about 3 inches of cord beneath the mounting surface as instructed, support the route and keep wiring clear of the moving head.

Mount upright and preserve drainage

The head rotates 370 degrees overall, about 185 degrees each way, and tilts through 135 degrees. Allow its approximately 11.3-inch swing diameter and avoid obstructions. Follow the mounting footprint and seal the cable hole. Do not seal the base gasket’s drainage path. The instructions prohibit inverted mounting and underwater use; an inverted installation is not made acceptable by extra sealant.

Pair the remote and test travel

Use the matching ST remote. Select spotlight 1 on the remote as instructed. Hold the remote’s power and speed buttons together while restoring light power; the guide allows learning in the first six seconds after power-up, and three flashes after three seconds confirm pairing. Test left/right and up/down travel in short movements, then full clearance without directing the beam at people. Check steady operation while moving the head. If aiming is intermittent, inspect remote batteries, pairing and supply voltage before changing the fuse or forcing the mechanism.

Manual and scope

Golight installation manual, ST Series Wireless Instruction Guide, undated; two-page manufacturer instruction sheet: mounting, pairing and separate LED/halogen electrical tables; retained from Flak mirror. The original PDF is retained in the marine source ledger. The drawing represents the identified electrical interfaces; it does not simulate the equipment’s mechanical performance, radio signals or fluid system. Unpublished connector ampacity and startup current remain unspecified.

Build it out

Connect it to the rest of your system.

Add 30004ST to your diagram, then connect your batteries, chargers and loads. Crimp calculates cable sizes and checks the connections as you draw.

Every cable you draw there is sized against ABYC E-11, from the same tables as the reference on this page.

Supporting parts

  1. 20 ft total of 16 AWG (1.5 mm²) marine cable
  2. Terminations for 16 AWG cable, matched to the equipment's screw terminals, leads or studs
  3. 5 A fuse and holder on the positive run
  4. Heat-shrink, strain relief and terminal boots sized to the cable

Check stud sizes, fuse type, run length and how warm the space gets against the gear you actually have before you order.

Method & provenance

Where the specifications and sizing come from.

Manufacturer specifications describe the equipment. Crimp calculates cable results from the circuit and assumptions you enter.

From the maker

What the catalog says

Manufacturer, model, ratings and which terminal does what come from the catalog. A newer revision, or the nameplate on the unit in your hand, can say something different — when it does, the nameplate wins.

ABYC E-11

What Crimp worked out

Sized against ABYC E-11 — the US reference, and what Transport Canada accepts as an alternative to TP 1332 for pleasure craft under 24 m. The run length and the current above are what drive the result. Crimp doesn't know how warm your space gets; draw the cable inside an engine-bay zone on the canvas and it sizes for the heat.
