Guidance for this model, with sources linked beside the relevant advice.

Check the battery revision

The downloaded SK12V206/SK12V206H data sheet describes a 12.8 V, 206 Ah battery with 150 A continuous discharge, 70 A maximum charge, and 170 A discharge for four seconds. This record explicitly covers that 150 A version. Similar product listings mention other BMS revisions; confirm the fitted battery label and its supplied documentation before applying these limits. The internal BMS does not replace external short-circuit protection. See exact model ratings, PDF p. 1.

Posts, protection and installation

Connect positive to a suitably rated battery fuse and isolation arrangement, and negative to the system return or battery-side shunt terminal. The M8 posts require 9–11 Nm according to the data sheet; support the cables so their weight does not twist the posts. Select conductor and fuse ratings for the actual load, charge sources and available fault current. IP50 describes the metal case: this is not an exposed bilge or spray-proof battery.

Charge and combine compatible batteries

Use a charger configured for the documented 14.4–14.6 V range and within 70 A maximum; 40 A is the recommended charge current. The manual warns against direct alternator charging and mixing battery types. Before series connection, individually charge the batteries as instructed. Parallel branches need equal conductor sizes and lengths; the downloaded data sheet permits up to four in series and ten in parallel. Do not silently apply a different listing's larger parallel limit. See series preparation, PDF p. 6 and parallel connections, PDF p. 8.

Confirm BMS and heating behavior

The H version includes heating, but this source set does not justify inventing a heater-current budget or exact thermostat thresholds. Check the supplied revision's cold-weather instructions and live BMS temperature/protection state before charging cold cells. The Bluetooth app exposes charge/discharge permission and protection status. If the pack is asleep or in storage mode, follow the documented wake procedure instead of bypassing the BMS. See BMS indicators, PDF p. 11 and sleep and wake behavior, PDF p. 12.

Build it out

Connect it to the rest of your system.

Add SK12V206H (150 A version) to your diagram, then connect your batteries, chargers and loads. Crimp calculates cable sizes and checks the connections as you draw.

Every cable you draw there is sized against ABYC E-11, from the same tables as the reference on this page.

  1. A lug or terminal to match each post on the part
  2. Strain relief and boots so nothing chafes or shorts
  3. Cable and fuses sized once the whole system is drawn

Check stud sizes, fuse type, run length and how warm the space gets against the gear you actually have before you order.

Method & provenance

Where the specifications and sizing come from.

Manufacturer specifications describe the equipment. Crimp calculates cable results from the circuit and assumptions you enter.

From the maker

What the catalog says

Manufacturer, model, ratings and which terminal does what come from the catalog. A newer revision, or the nameplate on the unit in your hand, can say something different — when it does, the nameplate wins.

ABYC E-11

What Crimp worked out

Sized against ABYC E-11. Boats built to UK or EU rules answer to ISO 13297 — check these figures against it before you build. The run length and the current above are what drive the result. Crimp doesn't know how warm your space gets; draw the cable inside an engine-bay zone on the canvas and it sizes for the heat.
