T70152 is the EV-100 complete wheel-pilot pack with an EV-1 sensor, ACU-100 actuator controller, wheel drive and p70s control head. Other pack numbers omit the controller or drive. Raymarine rates this wheel system for suitable sailboats up to 7,500 kg fully laden displacement; steering condition and installation geometry remain part of choosing the drive.
The ACU-100 is a 12 V unit, with a 10.8–15.6 V operating range. Protect its supply with the manufacturer's 10 A inline fuse or 10 A thermal breaker. Its internal 10 A blade fuse does not replace protection for the cable from the distribution panel. Connect the specified power and ground conductors, then the separate motor output and network spur according to the ACU diagram.
ACU-100 does not power SeaTalk NG. The backbone feeding the EV-1 and control head needs its own single 12 V supply, specified as a 5 A inline fuse or 3 A thermal breaker in the network instructions. Do not add a second feed to an already powered backbone without a designed network power arrangement.
For a sailboat wheel drive, Raymarine's table uses A+B: the power-panel-to-ACU run plus the ACU-to-drive run. It specifies at least 2.5 mm² up to 3 m combined length, 4 mm² up to 5 m, 6 mm² up to 7 m, 10 mm² up to 10 m and 16 mm² up to 16 m. A generic calculator that sees only the first leg misses the drive-cable voltage drop.
The catalog symbol reserves the ACU supply; it is not a complete autopilot harness. The 7 A figure is the ACU's continuous drive-output capability, while 300 mA is ACU standby alone. Neither is the kit's normal steering consumption. Average draw and surge remain unset until an installation-specific budget is available; the terminal limit is the protection-based planning bound.
Mount the EV-1 in the correct vessel orientation and away from magnetic interference. Keep the ACU's connector area protected and provide access for inspection. Follow the wheel-drive instructions for its support, belt, clutch and clearances; electrical commissioning cannot compensate for binding steering.
Check manual steering and clutch release before engaging the pilot. Complete the supported dockside setup, verifying rudder direction and limits, then perform the controller's required on-water checks in open water with a competent operator ready to regain manual control. Unexpected steering calls for standby and investigation of direction, sensor alignment or mechanical load, not a larger fuse.

Sized against ABYC E-11 — the US reference, and what Transport Canada accepts as an alternative to TP 1332 for pleasure craft under 24 m. The run length and the current above are what drive the result. Crimp doesn't know how warm your space gets; draw the cable inside an engine-bay zone on the canvas and it sizes for the heat.
