Verified against the manufacturer's documentation (rev. SOG Type B maintenance and operating instructions 90255; Type A/B microswitch instructions), checked 2026-10-01. Manufacturer documentation →

Which toilet ventilation kit is covered?

This is the SOG II Type B floor-outlet system for a Thetford C200 cassette toilet. The 2025 manufacturer brochure identifies the SOG system family as 12 V. It uses a fan and replaceable floor filter, so it must not inherit the door-filter or roof-vent maintenance procedure. The retained manufacturer documents cover Type B operation and its Type A/B microswitch installation; they do not provide a complete fuse and extension-cable schedule.

How does opening the toilet start the fan?

The manufacturer microswitch drawing places the roller against the rear edge of the sliding handle. The pressed microswitch interrupts the electrical feed; opening the blade releases it and starts the fan. Mount the bracket in the illustrated direction and secure it as instructed, including the stated additional rivet. Reversing this relationship can leave the fan running with the toilet closed.

What do the supply terminals represent?

The symbol's positive and negative poles represent the complete kit's 12 V feed, including its dedicated switch harness. They are not a replacement pinout for the microswitch or motor. The reviewed instructions do not establish a complete terminal colour map, branch fuse, motor startup current or extension size. Confirm those from the exact supplied electrical instructions before wiring; the detail page intentionally provides an overview rather than an apparently complete generic circuit.

How is the cassette removed safely?

The English Type B instructions, PDF page 2, require disconnecting the suction hose from the green coupling before withdrawing the cassette. Fit the supplied black closure for emptying, then restore the hose connection when reinstalling the cassette. Do not pull the cassette against an attached hose or leave the ventilation path disconnected after servicing.

What commissioning and maintenance are needed?

Operate the blade through its full travel and confirm that fan operation matches the intended switch sequence without binding. Check the hose and floor outlet for obstruction and leakage. The floor filter cartridge is replaced annually according to the manual: remove the fan from its rubber seating, replace the cartridge and refit the fan fully using the prescribed method. Isolate power before working on the fan or switch.

Build it out

Connect it to the rest of your system.

Add SOG II Type B to your diagram, then connect your batteries, chargers and loads. Crimp calculates cable sizes and checks the connections as you draw.

Every cable you draw there is sized against ABYC E-11, from the same tables as the reference on this page.

Supporting parts

  1. A lug or terminal to match each post on the part
  2. Strain relief and boots so nothing chafes or shorts
  3. Cable and fuses sized once the whole system is drawn

Check stud sizes, fuse type, run length and how warm the space gets against the gear you actually have before you order.

Manufacturer specifications describe the equipment. Crimp calculates cable results from the circuit and assumptions you enter.

What the catalog says

Manufacturer, model, ratings and which terminal does what come from the catalog. A newer revision, or the nameplate on the unit in your hand, can say something different — when it does, the nameplate wins.

ABYC E-11

What Crimp worked out

Sized against ABYC E-11. Boats built to UK or EU rules answer to ISO 13297 — check these figures against it before you build. The run length and the current above are what drive the result. Crimp doesn't know how warm your space gets; draw the cable inside an engine-bay zone on the canvas and it sizes for the heat.
