Which revision is represented?

This is Fiamma LED Awning Light 98655-848 as documented by instruction revision C. The specification table, page 3, gives 12 V, 7.4 W and 0.62 A, with IP54 protection. Some retailer listings quote older electrical values; check the actual label and instruction revision rather than mixing those figures. The light is a long exterior fitting, not a general unsealed LED strip.

Where does its supply connect?

The installation illustration, page 8, shows the lamp's two-wire 12 V supply. The catalog terminals represent those supply poles. The drawing does not establish a universal red/black colour code or a numbered connector map, so confirm polarity from the supplied lamp and harness markings before making connections.

How is the branch protected?

The English electrical instructions, page 10, require supply from the fuse box and correctly sized cable and connections. They do not publish a numeric fuse or minimum cross-section for every installation. The catalog's 0.62 A is the stated lamp draw, not an instruction to fit a particular fuse. Protect the cable at its source and account for its real route and environment.

Why does driving require another control?

Fiamma requires the electrical arrangement to prevent current reaching the lamp while the vehicle is running. That upstream interlock is not physically built into the lamp's two supply terminals. The detail page therefore remains an overview rather than showing an ordinary switched branch as a complete installation. Provide the appropriate vehicle-running inhibit and verify its behaviour before travel.

What should final checks include?

Follow the mounting and cable-routing sequence with power isolated, protect holes and joints against water, and secure the lead clear of moving awning parts. Test the lamp when parked, then verify that the chosen running signal inhibits it. Inspect for glare, mechanical interference and water entry. Disconnect supply before maintenance; IP54 does not justify exposing the fitting or its connections to pressure washing.

Build it out

Connect it to the rest of your system.

Add LED Awning Light 98655-848 to your diagram, then connect your batteries, chargers and loads. Crimp calculates cable sizes and checks the connections as you draw.

Every cable you draw there is sized against ABYC E-11, from the same tables as the reference on this page.

Manufacturer specifications describe the equipment. Crimp calculates cable results from the circuit and assumptions you enter.

From the maker

What the catalog says

Manufacturer, model, ratings and which terminal does what come from the catalog. A newer revision, or the nameplate on the unit in your hand, can say something different — when it does, the nameplate wins.

ABYC E-11

What Crimp worked out

Sized against ABYC E-11. Boats built to UK or EU rules answer to ISO 13297 — check these figures against it before you build. The run length and the current above are what drive the result. Crimp doesn't know how warm your space gets; draw the cable inside an engine-bay zone on the canvas and it sizes for the heat.
