The scanner accepts nominal 12/24 V, within 10.8–31.2 V at its connection. The manual specifies a 5 A inline fuse or 3 A thermal breaker. Follow the power-cable extension table for the chosen nominal voltage and route, rather than assuming the same cable size is suitable for both 12 V and 24 V. Connect red positive and black negative; the radar's supplied power cable has no separate drain conductor.
Published power is 17 W maximum transmitting, 7 W standby and 2 W in Wi-Fi sleep. The catalog's approximately 1.42 A is the explicit calculation 17 W / 12 V, not a current measured at every supply voltage. No startup surge is published here. Terminal limits are planning bounds from the specified protection, not connector test ratings.
