Peplink MAX BR1 Mini HW3 wiring diagram
Hardware revision 3 BR1 Mini: 13 W nominal and 18 W maximum. The 1.5 A model is 18 W divided by 12 V, not a measured current across its whole 10–30 V range. The four-pin DC connector includes ignition and I/O signals; LAN 1 supports standards-based PoE as an alternative input.

- 12 V / 24 V
- Rated power
- 18 W
- Continuous draw
- 1.5 A

10–30 V DC input. The 1.5 A load is calculated from 18 W maximum at 12 V; 2 A adapter capacity is not a fuse prescription. Follow the four-pin connector-face map. IGN and I/O are optional controls, not supply rails; LAN 1 PoE is standards-based. Manufacturer installation manual

Sized against ABYC E-11. The design current is the part's continuous draw. The length is one way; voltage drop includes an equal-length return.
Run-length and manufacturer assumptions
The editable example uses 3.048 m (10 ft) runs unless a shorter run is stated. Metric overviews round these to 3 m. Adapt the parts and lengths to your installation before choosing cable and protection.

Supporting parts
- 2 m total of 1.5 mm² (16 AWG) marine cable
- Terminations for 1.5 mm² cable, matched to the equipment's screw terminals, leads or studs
- 2 A fuse and holder on the positive run
- Heat-shrink, strain relief and terminal boots sized to the cable
Check stud sizes, fuse type, run length and how warm the space gets against the gear you actually have before you order.

Which hardware revision is covered?
This entry is the MAX BR1 Mini hardware revision 3. The archived manufacturer product sheet gives 10–30 V DC input, 13 W nominal and 18 W maximum. The catalog's 1.5 A is a calculated 18 W / 12 V planning value, not measured current at every supply voltage. Hardware revision and modem configuration must match the installed router.
What is the four-pin connector map?
The hardware guide, page 3, shows the router's connector face: I/O at upper left, IGN I/P at upper right, DC negative at lower left and DC positive at lower right. A loose mating plug viewed from its wire side is mirrored, so orient it from the manufacturer's drawing before crimping. Only the lower DC pair is the supply. The ignition and I/O markers are control signals, not extra power inputs or grounds.
Which supply options are distinct?
The supplied 12 V / 2 A adapter rating describes adapter capacity, not a prescribed battery fuse. The router also supports standards-based 802.3at PoE input on LAN 1. Do not inject passive battery voltage into Ethernet pairs. For a battery installation, use the rated DC connector or a properly specified PoE system, and treat the upstream cable protection as a separate design task.
How should it be installed in a vehicle?
Keep the router and connector dry, provide strain relief and fit the intended antennas to their correctly labelled connectors. Route the DC supply with enough cross-section to maintain voltage at the router during other equipment's startup. If ignition sensing is used, follow the applicable Peplink firmware and harness instructions; the symbol does not implement an ignition-delay circuit by itself.
What should commissioning verify?
Check DC polarity with the connector unplugged, then confirm stable startup and operation on the selected power source. Configure the SIM and network, change default administrative access, and verify a real data session. Test any ignition or redundant-power behaviour separately. A successful Wi-Fi connection does not establish that the vehicle's shutdown or low-voltage policy is configured correctly.
