Sized against ABYC E-11. The design current is the part's continuous draw. The length is one way; voltage drop includes an equal-length return.

Run-length and manufacturer assumptions

The editable example uses 3.048 m (10 ft) runs unless a shorter run is stated. Metric overviews round these to 3 m. Adapt the parts and lengths to your installation before choosing cable and protection.

Current official manual pp. 30–31: dedicated 7.5 A fuse near battery positive. Minimum 1.5 mm² for up to 12 m positive-plus-negative total; 1 m each way fits. Keep the separate control panel cable and follow gas/water commissioning. Manufacturer installation manual

Which AquaGo is represented?

This is the US AquaGo comfort DLE60C, a propane instantaneous water heater with 12 V electronics and circulation functions. The technical table, page 15, lists electrical input below 2.5 A for comfort. That upper bound is the catalog load; the 20,000–60,000 BTU/h fuel input is not electrical consumption. Comfort plus has a different water-circulation layout.

How are power and the control panel connected?

The connection instructions, page 33, identify red as positive and black as negative. The control panel connects through its dedicated cable and plug. The catalog's control marker represents that proprietary connection, not a DC power terminal. Fit the panel indoors where moisture cannot reach it and secure its cable in the provided strain relief.

Which fuse and cable lengths does this revision require?

Use a dedicated 7.5 A fuse close to battery positive. The supply instructions and diagram, pages 30–31, specify at least 16 AWG / 1.5 mm² for a maximum 40 ft / 12 m combined outgoing-and-return length, or 14 AWG / 2.0 mm² up to 66 ft / 20 m. Include optional switch wiring in that total; its rating must be at least 7.5 A. The supply must have less than 1 V peak-to-peak ripple. These requirements supersede fuse values from other revisions.

What installation limits matter?

The water-pressure maximum is 65 psi / 4.5 bar. The standard outlet temperature is about 120 °F / 49 °C, so mixing and scald protection still matter. Follow the exterior access-door, combustion ventilation and propane connection instructions; do not treat the wiring example as a complete water-heater installation.

What is checked before use or storage?

Follow the manual's first-start sequence after the gas and water connections have been checked. Confirm the control panel, hot-water delivery and error display. For freezing storage, use the model-specific draining or winterizing procedure. Release water pressure and allow the heater to cool before operating the Easy Drain Lever; simply switching off the electricity does not drain trapped water.

Build it out

Connect it to the rest of your system.

Add AquaGo comfort DLE60C to your diagram, then connect your batteries, chargers and loads. Crimp calculates cable sizes and checks the connections as you draw.

Every cable you draw there is sized against ABYC E-11, from the same tables as the reference on this page.

Supporting parts

  1. 2 m total of 1.5 mm² (16 AWG) marine cable
  2. Terminations for 1.5 mm² cable, matched to the equipment's screw terminals, leads or studs
  3. 7.5 A fuse and holder on the positive run
  4. Heat-shrink, strain relief and terminal boots sized to the cable

Check stud sizes, fuse type, run length and how warm the space gets against the gear you actually have before you order.

Method & provenance

Where the specifications and sizing come from.

Manufacturer specifications describe the equipment. Crimp calculates cable results from the circuit and assumptions you enter.

From the maker

What the catalog says

Manufacturer, model, ratings and which terminal does what come from the catalog. A newer revision, or the nameplate on the unit in your hand, can say something different — when it does, the nameplate wins.

ABYC E-11

What Crimp worked out

Sized against ABYC E-11. Boats built to UK or EU rules answer to ISO 13297 — check these figures against it before you build. The run length and the current above are what drive the result. Crimp doesn't know how warm your space gets; draw the cable inside an engine-bay zone on the canvas and it sizes for the heat.
