Which RTX 2000 is covered?

This is the 12 V unit, SKU 9620001310, as identified on Dometic's product page. The currently linked installation table, page 15, specifies 10–60 A and a 9–15 V operating range for RTX 2000 12 V. Older family instructions list 58 A; the catalog follows the newer 60 A limit. Cooling capacity is not electrical input power, and the SKU page and family table use different cooling-capacity figures, so no cooling wattage is inserted into the electrical budget.

Why are there four supply-related leads?

The wiring diagram and instructions, pages 5 and 11, separate the heavy power circuit from battery-voltage monitoring. The main red positive lead needs 80 A protection; its black return carries the operating current. The separate red monitoring lead needs 2 A protection, with its own black reference return. Both pairs must follow Dometic's diagram.

The catalog's `pos` and `neg` terminals are the power pair. `sense-pos` and `sense-neg` represent the monitoring pair and do not carry the compressor's 60 A. Their 2 A boundary identifies protection, not sensing consumption. A two-wire example omits part of the actual installation; do not join the monitoring lead into the heavy feed merely to simplify the drawing.

What does roof installation involve?

Use the mounting kit approved for the vehicle and confirm the roof opening, support, roof thickness and permitted mounting angle. The SKU installation prerequisites explain the roof and mounting checks. Keep service access and air paths clear and follow the seal and fastener sequence. Do not remove an emergency exit to install the unit.

How do setup and battery endurance interact?

The installer configuration, pages 12–13, includes the battery monitor; the 12 V factory undervoltage setting is 11.5 V. That setting protects operation, and does not replace a battery-specific discharge plan. The 60 A catalog value is an upper electrical load, so an hours-per-day budget at that value is conservative rather than a measured average. If the unit stops on low voltage, compare voltage at the battery and at the power terminals under load, then check the separate monitor wiring, fuses and connections.

Catalog specification

12 V parking air conditioner with separately fused power and battery-voltage monitoring leads. The current installation manual rates electrical input at 10–60 A; cooling watts are not electrical consumption. Main feed requires 80 A protection and the positive monitoring lead 2 A protection.
